Regional tour: « Dance is not for us » / Omar Rajeh
Omar Rajeh introduces his new solo creation, Dance is not for us, in which he both choreographs and performs. The performance delves into the concept of dance as a space for collective gathering and shared experiences. Through his expressive movements, Rajeh establishes his own set of rules, challenging the power structures that aim to enforce conformity and instill fear.
Alone on stage, Omar Rajeh dances and evokes a vanished intimate past. Memories, sensations, and joyful moments appear frozen, as if the past has not been transmitted to the present. In this reflection, dance questions power and the limits imposed by society, politics, and culture. Who is dance addressing today? What are the contours of this art in our contemporary world?
