La Collection Africa 2020 : I Listen (You) See by Hamdi Dridi
As part of the programme La Collection organised by the French Institute, „I Listen (You) See“ is a dance performance in tribute to the working-class world, performed by three Tunisian dancers.
Three men, three singular life stories. Three Tunisian dancers paying tribute to the figure of the worker. A unique show by choreographer and dancer Hamdi Dridi in the form of a „sound investigation“ in which the worker’s gesture is transformed into a profound dance.
Recycled and recorded materials are used to bring the space of labour on stage. A speaker suspended in the centre of the space, flying in a game of risky manipulations, is defying gravity. Step by step, Hamdi Dridi unites bodies, creating encounters and sharing; he unveils and captures a hymn to the working gesture, to breath and to life.
This tour is supported by the French Institute as part of La Collection Africa 2020 programme, and coordinated by Teatroskop.
