Teatroskop

Teatroskop, launched in 2011 by the French Institute, the French Ministry of Culture, and the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, is a program designed to boost exchanges between France and South-East Europe in the field of contemporary performing arts. It acts as an intermediary organization, advisor, and co-founder to encourage project-sharing, professional encounters, and cooperation between the regional actors and the French scene.

Coordinated by the French Institute in Serbia in close cooperation with other French Institutes in the Southeast Europe, Teatroskop encompasses several fields of action:

• COOPERATION: fostering development of partnerships between France-based
  organizations, performing arts companies and artists with their regional counterparts
• JOINT PROJECT DEVELOPMENT: assessing needs with local partners, joint project development and search for funding opportunities in France
• NETWORKING: facilitation of contacts, matchmaking and co-organization of
  professional meetings with regional partners
• DISTRIBUTION: fostering links and facilitating connections between France-based companies and artists with regional organizations, financial support for the circulation of France-based artists and their works
• CAPACITY BUILDING: co-organization and support for trainings and other capacity building activities
• INFORMING: monitoring and sharing information regarding sectorial news, funding and professional opportunities in France, Europe and the SEE region

Teatroskop operates in South-East Europe and takes into account the vast cultural diversity of this region. The South-East Europe is considered in a broad sense and includes following countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Hungary, Kosovo*, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia and Turkey. It focuses on non-verbal disciplines such as contemporary circus, contemporary dance, puppetry, and street performances. Simultaneously, Teatroskop adopts an intergenerational approach that is accessible to all audiences, creating inclusive and engaging artistic experiences for a wide range of spectators.
