Regional tour: „Borderless“ / Association La Dérive
Cirkorama, Cirkusfera, and Ludifico are joining forces to present the show Borderless to the regional audience. This show was created by artists Sébastien Davis-VanGelder and Blanca Franco, represented by Association La Dérive. The performance delves into the exploration of borders, be it physical, cultural, economic, or linguistic.
Borderless is inspired by Lucha Libre, a Mexican style of acrobatic wrestling, to challenge the clichés associated with Sébastien and Blanca’s respective countries, the United States and Mexico. The stage design is filled with symbols such as cacti, sombreros, and football helmets, humorously subverting these stereotypes.
By reappropriating these caricatures, Borderless questions borders and the effects they produce on minds and bodies, offering a reflection on identity and the cultural differences between the two neighbouring countries.
